Sledding didn’t work, but still beautiful!
White Sands National Park的点评
点评：This is one of those places that you have to see to believe. I had come here several times a kid, and had described it in detail to my husband. When he saw it, he could not believe it and even when we read to him on the guide how the sand had gotten there, he still couldn’t believe it. He was absolutely baffled by it! Haha.
Like many others, we had bought some disc sleds to attempt to slide down the sand dunes. We bought some sled wax at the gift shop. Despite trying many different times using the techniques the workers suggested, we never did get the sleds to work properly. (Nobody else on the dunes did either, haha). I’m sure there’s got to be some kind of a trick to it, but nobody there that day figured it out, lol!
Besides the sleds not propelling us downhill like we had hoped, we still had a lot of fun playing in the sand for a little bit and enjoying the beauty. My kids said it was one of their favorite parts of the trip.
