Good for kids for 1st time amusement parks or roller coasters

点评：We visited here in October for 1 day with a 4 and 7 year old and think it was a great age to bring them.
From park opening to close we were able to go on about 22 rides/attractions/playgrounds, but still didn't feel like we were able to do everything. Still for 1 day we felt we had a fairly complete experience. If you'd like to do the water park, (we didn't try it) you'll want a second day which would probably give you enough time to finish the park for what you didn't do the first day and maybe keep a slower pace. We booked 1 of our tickets through a work company discounts portal for a discount and free parking so you might check some places you don't normally. We went counter clock wise around the park, as the dinosaur area rides were pretty long all day, but then were a bit rushed when we tried the left side and didn't get to ride the dinosaur ones at all. Guess for us it just wasn't enough hours in the day.
As for the park, it's really designed for kids so you should compare to similar places that are focused soley on younger ages. It's pretty good for them. If you're traveling from out of the area I would recommend waiting until they are just 42" tall and can go on all of the rides. It's fine if you don't there are still lots of rides to go on, but I felt like it was the right starting age. Our 4 year old was able to ride everything and after every ride wanted to do them again. As an adult the only ride that stood out to me was the galactic coaster which was a really neat indoor roller coaster. Some of the rides are a little old and if you compare it to Disney they don't have the level of detail and upkeep. I would not recommend coming here without kids under 12.
Our 7 year old enjoyed the lego trading a lot, but was disappointed much of the day because there weren't many places to trade. It was mostly customer service and a couple of the stores, but if you pick up a few lego figures and bring them with you could still do that. We didn't need to build our own which took time at the start when arrived and one of our kids wasn't interested at all.
If you go on a hot day, there isn't much shade or places to eat inside. We all probably would've enjoyed it more in milder weather. One thing I liked was there were play areas in the middle of the lines where kids could go to wait instead of just standing there and playgrounds near several of the roller coasters if some kids weren't tall enough.
The park is only like 10 minutes from the town and beaches so if you stay anywhere in the area you'll be fine. Security lines were pretty minimal for us so you don't need to get there more than 20 minutes before park opens and regular parking wasn't too far. We brought a couple of strollers, the 7 year old didn't need it. The park closed pretty early.
Afterwards, we went to downtown Carlsbad saw the sunset at the beach and got pizza then big scoops at handels ice cream. The downtown was quite busy on a Friday night so you might call ahead or place an order from the park on the way for food.
If we lived close, this would be a fun place to have season passes, from farther away this will probably just be a one time experience.

这个公园离镇子和海滩只有10分钟左右的路程，所以只要住在这一带，都不会有问题。对我们来说，安检流程相当简单，因此只需要在乐园开放前20分钟到达即可；普通停车场的位置也不算远。我们带了几辆婴儿车，不过那个7岁的孩子其实用不上。乐园关门的时间挺早的。
