点评:At the age of 70 years I was determined to cross the Grampians Peaks Trail off my bucket list, and I did so in March/April, 2026. The walk had all of the ingredients I was looking for insofar as it was challenging, rewarding and safe. When I say it was safe I'm referring to the numerous exist points, generally good mobile coverage, excellent shelter facilities and easy navigation. I enjoyed walking solo and having many of the campsites to myself, but also enjoyed the times when I met up with other walkers on track or in camp. The campsite costs should be seen as a contribution to the maintenance of the track, rather than an impost as it is clear that Parks Victoria continue to repair and update the track and facilities on an ongoing basis. Having crossed the GPT off my bucket list, I'm inclined to add it back and do it again from south to north.
