Biltmore House Tour was Well Done

点评：You can’t help juggling several thoughts when seeing this property. The house is amazing and quite over the top like all mansions are. It’s easy to resent the ruthless robber baron methods by which such a property comes to be and you do think about that as you are touring this beautiful property. But having been built, I do find myself admiring the family's effort to fully maintain the mansion. I would think it a travesty to build such a wonder and then let it deteriorate. I appreciate their finding a way to share the property with others with this tour.
The tour is expensive but I thought it was well organized, thoughtful and informational. The guided tour answered almost all the questions that I would have asked. They showed you everything you could have hoped to see.
It was decorated for the holidays which added to the feeling that this was someone’s home. They tried to present the family in the best possible light. However if you researched more, you found out that the family dealt with family drama and disappointment no less than everyone else, but clearly on a different scale.
The staff was wonderful and helpful at all times.
I did not care for the light show Lumiere and I would not recommend. It was a little too much self promotion for me. I think the intent was to showcase the history of the home, but I thought the house tour did that sufficiently.
