点评:Tuz Gölü was one of the most memorable stops I made while travelling from Istanbul to Cappadocia. I arrived around sunset, and the whole landscape looked almost surreal. The vast stretches of white are actually salt, with beautiful shades of white and pink spreading across the landscape. There isn’t much water in the lake, but in some places you can find shallow, salty pools where you can actually put your feet in and experience the salt water.
The sunset against this unusual landscape was absolutely beautiful and made for some incredible photographs. One important thing to be aware of, though: if you see what looks like a larger pool of dirty water near the restaurants, do not mistake it for part of the lake. It is wastewater being discharged from a sewage pipe from the nearby restaurants, and although it can create a strangely beautiful reflection in photographs, it is definitely not the lake and should be avoided.
Overall, Tuz Gölü was a lovely and unusual experience, especially at sunset. The combination of the salt flats, pink and white colours, shallow salt pools and dramatic sky makes it well worth stopping at if you are travelling this route.
