Amazing concept, loved the zoo, crowd control needs major improvement

点评：We enjoyed our visit to the Ark Encounter. This had been on the list for a long time.
Starting with logistics, the arrival process was smooth overall, but expect long lines to be bused from the parking lot into the attraction. If you arrive just before opening, you may wait 30-45 minutes before getting into the park itself.
The Ark is impressive to see at full scale. I especially enjoyed the exhibits on Deck 3, which go into the living conditions, how food may have been grown, and the science behind the Flood.
One major caution: the Ark is not especially accessibility-friendly. It was very difficult to navigate with a rented mobility scooter, and the crowds were not mindful of guests with mobility challenges. People in lines frequently skipped past scooters, backed into them without looking, and made already tight spaces even harder to move through. The guest experience could be greatly improved with better crowd control. I’d also recommend that Ark Encounter consider implementing timed entry into the Ark to reduce crowding and make the interior more navigable.
The lower decks were more underwhelming.
The carousel was fun, though it does not have a view and moves slowly. The VR experience was okay, but the main “effects” were the seat shaking and clunking around quite a bit, so it wasn’t my cup of tea.
The true highlight was the animal encounter experiences, which I would consider not to be missed. Being able to hear from zookeepers up close about these incredible animals was really special. I can highly recommend the macropod (kangaroo/wallaby) and sloth experiences.
The buffet was plentiful and offered some decent vegetable and healthier options.
Overall, we were pleased with our visit. I’d love to see more immersive experiences added in the future, especially exhibits that help guests imagine what life may have been like in the days of Noah or make it feel like you are stepping back in time.
